Northern California Regional Symposium
Friday, March 13, 2020 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
The purpose of the Regional Symposium is to bring together Umoja program faculty, staff, and students to learn from each other in community. The Regional Symposium is a one-day INDABA (a deep discussion) focusing on topics designed to strengthen Umoja programs. The Symposium provides current Umoja students and practitioners an opportunity to network and explore strategies to strengthen their programs. Students also gather and have a chance to share their perspectives on how Umoja educators can best serve them.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all attendees. Registration and breakfast will begin at 8:00 am. The general session will begin at 9:00 am and will lead the group into a lunch. The second half of the day University of California, Berkeley representatives will conduct a tour of their campus. This student experience will be a walking tour highlighting areas of interest for Black students; attendees are advised to wear comfortable shoes and bring a light jacket.
Registration cost is $10 per attendee. Registration includes meals, materials and branded material for attendees.
