What is the Virtual Umoja Program Academy?

The Virtual Umoja Program Academy is a two-day learning experience designed for the Umoja Community program faculty and staff. Educators from California Community Colleges have the opportunity to examine and identify practical strategies for how to engage our Black student populations within a virtual academic environment.  New and returning Umoja practitioners are encouraged to attend to discuss and refine their programs based on information shared at the Academy.

The Academy has three primary goals:

  • Goal #1: We will Introduce the Umoja community to new practitioners, faculty, and administrators.
  • Goal #2: We will provide training and personal/professional development for Umoja coordinators and practitioners, with real-time tools needed to manage an impactful Umoja program.
  • Goal #3: We will present key strategies to help practitioners plan and prepare for remote programming, counseling, and learning.

Who should attend?

This event is for new and returning Umoja practitioners and faculty.
